What about the Devil?

The whole idea of the Devil doesn't make sense, if you think about it. God created Lucifer and God is all knowing. That means, God knew before hand, that Lucifer would become Satin. So God created Satin. That means God created Evil. That would mean that God is evil. Dogs beget dogs, cats beget cats, perfection begets perfection, evil begets evil, don't you suppose?

Personally, I don't believe in the Devil. I believe there is "God's Will" and "Man's Will" (by that, I mean both men and women). They don't have to be in conflict, but they often times are. The secret to happiness seems to be figuring out what "God's Will" is, and making "My Will" align with that. I think blaming our bad actions on a third party is a cop out. Men and Women need to take responsibility for their actions. We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God. What are we going to do about it?

Of course there are actions which are truly evil. They are created by people, not God. God knows what those action are. You and I know what those actions are. There is such thing as true evil. It comes from inside people, not from outside. These actions should be avoided by the individual, and punished by Society. However many of us spend most of our time trying to make simple actions appear evil. This makes us feel safely superior. We make these judgments, while we allow truly egregious actions to take place with little or no concern. Maybe that's why so many of us live in Hell.
